Pongal Celebration 2026

Dr. Jeyasekharan College and School of Nursing celebrated Pongal with great enthusiasm and cultural vibrancy on 14th January 2026 at the college campus.

The celebration reflected the rich traditions of Tamil culture, with students dressed in traditional attire, adding colour and festivity to the occasion. As part of the celebrations, students prepared Pongal in mud pots using traditional methods, symbolizing gratitude for a bountiful harvest.

The Pongal preparation was carried out by Final Year B.Sc. Nursing and DGNM students, showcasing teamwork and cultural appreciation.


Activities and Participation

A variety of fun and engaging activities were organized for students, including:

  • Musical chairs
  • Sugarcane eating competitions

Students participated enthusiastically in all the events, and both faculty and students actively engaged in the celebrations, creating a joyful and inclusive atmosphere.
