The World Breast Feeding Week was celebrated from 01-08-2022 TO 07-08-2022 on the theme Step up Breast feeding , Educate and Support.
The Previous day corresponding sisters in the OPDs and the doctors in the OPDs were informed about conduction of Breast Feeding Week.
An awareness health education program was conducted in the hospital premises inorder to motivate the mothers to promote breast feeding. Health talk was given in three areas namely paediatric OPD, Anisha Block and Lactation room at 10am to 12pm.
First day education was given by Ms. Kaviya, Ms. Anu and Ms. Abisha.and Ashlin. On 03-08-2022 health talk was given by Ms. Ashlin, Ms.Selvi , Ms.Kaviya and Nandhini at paediatric OPD, Anisha Block and Lactation room.
On 04-08-2022 health talk was given by Ms. Ashlin, Ms.Selvi , Ms.Abisha and Ashika at 10am to 12n. Lactation counsellor Ms. Lincy also participated in the programme.
Paediatricians Dr. Gopal , Dr.Mohan and Dr.Sunil emphasized the importance of breast feeding and said about extended breast feeding for two years of life.
Health education was given by the students with the help of audiovisual aids pamphlet. (Pamphlet content was benefit of breast feeding) and power point presentation was displayed in closed circuit television throught out the week in paediatric and main OPD.
Pamphlets were distributed in paediatric OPD, gyneac OPD, downstairs, Anisha block and lactation room.
