International Women’s Day 2023

On 8th March 2023, Wednesday, International Women’s day was celebrated at Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust Auditorium.  The program was organized by Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust College of Allied Health Sciences.

            International women’s day is a time to reflect on progress made, to call for change and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women.  The main objective of this program is to celebrate women’s achievement and raise awareness about discrimination. International women’s day 2023 is celebrated with theme Embrace Equity. 

The program started with the prayer song & Tamil Thai Vazhthu by college choir. Followed by Ms. Noora shahana Bsc Cardiac Technology II year student welcomed the gathering.  The dignitaries on the dais lighted the kuthuvilakku.

            The women’s day messages is given by our Managing Trustee Dr. Devaprasath Jeyasekharan, Medical Administrator Dr. Renu Devaprasath, Administrators Mrs. Beena Sabu and Mrs. Sujatha Ranjit. The Message are more impressive and motivated the women’s. Followed by Mrs. Jeyalakshmi,  Vice principal College of Nursing & Course coordinator,  Allied Health Sciences introduced the chief guest to the gathering..

            Women’s’ day Chief Guest Mrs. Praveen Mathew, Correspondent and Vice Chairman, Corpus Christi School, Nagercoil gave talk on “Challenge to make a change”.  Her talk was informative and more motivated to every woman that makes us to feel proud to be women.  After the chief guest adder women ‘special dance was presented by BSc OTAT II year students then women’s special two videos – “Inspiring Indian women Achievers”, “Being a woman” are played for the audience. The videos are more informative, creative and colorful.   Audience are enjoyed the videos.

            As women’s are facing problems in society and fighting for the freedom & developing courage to achieve the goals, which was depicted through Mime by our BSc OTAT I Year students.

A Women’s day special surprise game was organized for the women participants and the winner was awarded with special prize.

            Prizes were distributed to the winners of women’s day competitions such as Rangoli , Poetry writing and Slogan writing competitions conducted on 3/3/2023 with the theme “Women Empowerment”.

                        The program ended with a vote of thanks by Ms. Bivish Giftika, BSc Cardiac Technology II year followed by the National Anthem.
