To mark World Patient Safety Day, Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Allied Health Sciences, in collaboration with Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital & Nursing Home, organized a two-day event on 15th and 16th September 2023 with the theme “Engaging Patients for Patient Safety.”
As part of the observance, a Poster Making Competition was conducted on 14th September 2023 for students and staff on the college campus. Students from Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust College of Allied Health Sciences, the College and School of Nursing, as well as hospital staff, participated enthusiastically. Winners were awarded certificates and prizes, and all participants received certificates of participation.
To create patient awareness, health talks on “Engaging Patients for Patient Safety” were delivered on 15th and 16th September 2023 at 11:00 am in the Front OPD and Pediatric OPD. The sessions were presented by Ms. Athevera Abenantha (OTAT II Year) and Ms. D. Varsha (Dialysis Technology II Year). The presentations commenced with an introduction and welcome address by Mrs. S. Leethial, Assistant Professor.
The events were successful in spreading awareness about patient safety and highlighted the importance of patient engagement in healthcare.
