WORLD ANESTHESIA DAY – 2022
Theme – Safe Anesthesia
On October 16, 2022 World Anesthesia day was celebrated by the Department of Anesthesia, Dr.Jeyasekharan Hospital and the College of Allied Health Sciences. HOD’s of various Departments, Anaesthesiologist, Anesthesia staff, Anaesthesia Technician Tutors and BSc.OTAT students took part in the program the Chief guest was introduced by Dr. Anand Karthik Consultant Anesthesiologist.
It was a one hour program which commenced at 4pm with a prayer song by the college choir, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Reshma Suresh BSc OTAT III Year student, followed by cake cutting by the dignitaries to commemorate Dr. W T G Mortan’s Birthday.
The theme, “Safe Anesthesia” was introduced by HOD, Dept of Anaesthesia, Dr. Renu Devaprasath, Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital & Nursing Home. A brief history of Ether Day was delivered by Dr. Alex Francisco Nicholas, Consultant Anaesthesiologist.
Anesthesia PG residents, Dr. Ruby, Dr. Dhanush & Dr. Nithiya presented on Safe anesthesia during the peri-operative period. Mrs. Vimala Rani, shared the experience of her journey in the field of anesthesia as an anaesthesia technician in Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital. The topic on “Role of Technologist in safe anesthesia” was presented by Mr. Aadhil, BSc OTAT Intern. The chief guest, Dr. Ananda Kumar, past president Tamil Nadu State ISA delivered the chief guest address.
Prizes were distributed to the winners of poster making competition. The program ended with a Vote of thanks by Mr. Moses, BSc OTAT II year, followed by the National Anthem.
