Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing, through its Student Nurses Association (SNA), observed World Arthritis Day on 10th October 2025 with an informative and engaging awareness programme.
Programme Highlights
The programme began with an introductory session led by Dr. Saravanan (Orthopedician) and Dr. Subbian (Physiatrist) from Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital and Nursing Home. They provided valuable insights into arthritis, its causes, management, and the importance of early intervention.
B.Sc. Nursing IV Year students actively contributed to the programme by:
- Performing a role play demonstrating the challenges faced by individuals with arthritis
- Demonstrating exercises beneficial for arthritis management
- Delivering a PowerPoint presentation based on the theme “The Power of Dreams”
The presentation emphasized lifestyle modifications, dietary changes, and preventive strategies to manage arthritis effectively.
Conclusion
The programme successfully enhanced awareness about arthritis and highlighted the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices to improve quality of life.
