World Tuberculosis Day is observed globally to raise awareness about TB and to call for unified efforts in eradicating it as a public health threat. The 2025 observance emphasized the urgent need for commitment, investment, and actionin TB prevention, treatment, and control.

Program Highlights

  • Welcome Address: Delivered by Dr. Sarayu Priya, Principal, Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing.
  • Guest Lecture & Presentation:Dr. Sheya, Medical Officer, TB Cell, Aasaripallam, presented an informative PowerPoint session on:
    • Epidemiology of Tuberculosis
    • Objectives of the National TB Programme
    • Current strategies for diagnosis and management
    • Recent updates and emerging trends in TB control
  • Quiz Programme: Conducted for nursing students to reinforce learning; winners were recognized and appreciated.
  • Guest Honour: Dr. Sheya was felicitated by the college.
  • Vote of Thanks: Proposed by Dr. Sarayu Priya, Principal.
