World Leprosy Day was observed on 30th January 2024, and to mark the occasion, a special program was organized in collaboration with the Directorate of Medical Services (Leprosy), Kanyakumari District, at Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing on 14th March 2024 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. The theme of World Leprosy Day 2024 was “Beat Leprosy.”

The program commenced with an introduction of the chief guest by Dr. Sarayu Priya, Principal, Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing. This was followed by a special address delivered by Dr. Girija, Deputy Director, Medical Services (Leprosy). She elaborated on recent trends in leprosy management and encouraged students to actively participate in community awareness and prevention initiatives.

The program concluded at 1:30 pm, leaving participants better informed and motivated to contribute to the eradication of leprosy.
