The 78th Independence Day was celebrated at Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust on 15th August 2024 at 8:30 am. The program began with a prayer song, followed by the Tamil Thaai Vazhthu sung by the Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust choir. This was followed by Bible reading and prayer led by Sis. Shyla Das and Sis. Maria Lisha. Ms. Alsha Mol, Dialysis Technology Tutor, welcomed the gathering.
The National Flag was hoisted by the Chief Guest, Brig (Miss) Chandra, Retired Deputy Director General, Military Nursing Services (MNS), Headquarters Eastern Command, Kolkata. The National Pledge was then administered by Lt. Col. Vanammal, Nursing Superintendent. Brig (Miss) Chandra delivered the Independence Day address, emphasizing the significance of independence and the spirit of national pride.

This was followed by Independence Day greetings from Dr. Sabu Jeyasekharan, Trustee.
Prize Distribution
Prizes were awarded to students and staff who won competitions conducted as part of:

- Independence Day Celebrations
- World Hypertension Day
The winners were recognized with cash prizes and certificates.
Cultural Performance
The celebration concluded with a patriotic dance performance by students of the College of Allied Health Sciences, adding vibrance and patriotic fervor to the occasion.
