The world Diabetic day was celebrated at Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital campus on 14.11.2023 from 9:00am-01:00pm.
The programme started with an introductory speech regarding Diabetic Day was given by Dr. RanjitJeyasekhran. Health talk was given by doctors regarding the following topics;
- Dr. Satheesh (Gen. Medicine) – Regular follow up care
- Dr. Nithila (Gen. Surgeon) – Foot care
- Dr. Ninoo George (Nephrologist) – Early signs of kidney failure due to Diabetes (Micro-albumin test)
- Dr. Sabareesh, Dr. Aravind, Dr. Daniel (Gen. Medicine) – Daily lifestyle practices (diet & exercise)
- Dr. Jeyaseelan (Dental Surgeon) – Importance of dental checkup for Diabetes patients
- Importance of Eye care -explained by DNB registrars.
Free lab investigations (RBS, PPBS, HbA1C) were checked
Posters regarding life style modification, diet planning, monitoring and managing blood glucose levels, managing high and low blood glucose, self administration of insulin, complications, diabetic foot care, steps involved in primordial prevention of diabetes were displayed.
II Year B.Sc(N) students actively participated in the program and made it as a success. I thank the team who worked hard throughout the program.
