World Hypertension Day was celebrated at Dr. JMT College of Allied Health Sciences on 13th June 2024 with the aim of educating people and raising awareness about the prevention and control of hypertension.
Public Awareness Activities
To create public awareness, a Blood Pressure Measurement and Hypertension Survey was conducted over three days (11th, 12th, and 13th June 2024) at Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital OPDs, as well as at bus stands and shops in the community. These activities helped emphasize the importance of regular blood pressure monitoring.
Student Competitions
To promote awareness among students, several competitions were conducted on 13th June 2024:
- Painting Competition – Theme: “Measure Your Blood Pressure Accurately, Control It, Live Longer”
- Mime Competition – Theme: “Control Your Blood Pressure”
- Slogan Writing Competition – Theme: “Prevention of Hypertension”
Certificates and prizes were awarded to the winners, while participation certificates were distributed to all students who actively took part in the competitions.
The celebration successfully highlighted the significance of hypertension awareness and prevention, engaging both the public and students in meaningful activities.
