Overview

World Heart Day is observed globally on 29th September every year to raise awareness about cardiovascular diseases, prevention, and the importance of maintaining heart health. This year’s celebration at Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust was organized with the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat.” The event included pre-event activities, competitions, and an academic main session designed to promote heart-healthy living and preventive care.


Pre-Event Programmes (29th September 2025 – Morning Session)

The day began with activities focusing on promoting preventive cardiology and wellness among patients and visitors:

Student Competitions (20th September 2025)

Creative inter-departmental competitions were held to encourage awareness through education and art:

  • Quiz Competition – Knowledge test on cardiology and cardiac health.
  • Face Painting Competition – Students depicted messages of heart awareness and prevention through art.
  • Short Film Competition – Based on the theme “Don’t Miss A Beat,” emphasizing prevention, early recognition, and timely care.

The formal celebration began at 12:00 Noon in the JMT Auditorium with a Prayer Song by the College Choir.

  • Cardiology Department Timeline & Video Presentation: Showcased milestones, achievements, and innovations in cardiac care.
