World Environment Day was celebrated on 5th June 2025 at Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing, organized by the Student Nurses’ Association (SNA) and conducted by the B.Sc. Nursing I Year students. The event aimed to spread awareness about the global issue of plastic pollution and encourage sustainable practices.

Program Highlights

  • Opening: The program began with a prayer, followed by a welcome address by Ms. Subasree (B.Sc. Nursing I Year).
  • Panel Discussion: Presented by Ms. Sree Priya, Ms. Iswarya, Ms. Saranya, Ms. Anitta, and Ms. Deepika Nair, focusing on the impact of plastic pollution on oceans, marine life, soil, and land.
  • Role Play: An interactive skit was performed by Ms. Parveen Sathya, Ms. Benshiya, Ms. Jeya Sutha, Ms. Anuciya, Ms. Aarthi, Mr. Sencin, Mr. Abishek, Ms. Shreya, Ms. Subasree, and Ms. Ani Rutheesha,illustrating harmful effects of plastic and promoting eco-friendly practices.
  • Theme Presentation: Delivered by Ms. Princy Maria, offering clear insights into the year’s theme.
  • Poster Presentation: Creative posters were displayed by five students; the best poster was selected and awarded.
  • Pledge Slogan Competition: Students participated in a slogan-writing competition; the best entry was recognized.
  • Special Address: Dr. Golden Catherine, Professor of Mental Health Nursing, addressed the gathering, commending the students for their efforts and commitment to environmental protection.
  • Closing Activity: The event concluded with the planting of saplings in the college campus.
