11.01.2025 | Dr. Jeyasekharan College and School of Nursing Campus | Duration: Half Day
Pongal was celebrated on 11th January 2025 at the college campus, organized by Dr. Jeyasekharan College and School of Nursing. Students came dressed in traditional attire, with boys in dhotis and girls in saris, reflecting the cultural heritage of the festival.
As part of the celebration, Pongal was cooked in the traditional manner in clay mud pots by Final Year B.Sc. Nursing and DGNM students. A lively cultural performance of traditional dance was also presented by Final Year B.Sc. Nursing students.
Activities & Competitions
The celebration included several fun-filled traditional games and competitions:
- Musical Chair
- Cane Eating
- Uri Adi
- Tug of War
- Pot Painting Competition
- Rangoli Competition
Students participated enthusiastically in all the activities, while faculty members also joined in the festive games, adding to the joy of the occasion.
At the conclusion of the program, Pongal and sugarcane were served to all participants, symbolizing sharing and unity.
The Pongal celebration was vibrant, joyful, and culturally enriching, strengthening bonds between students and staff while honoring tradition.
