“Letter writing is the only device for combining solitude with good company.” – Lord Byron

Letter writing is an essential skill and can also be enjoyable. To introduce students to the joy of writing letters and to promote awareness among the present generation, the Postal Department of India organized the “Dhai Akhar” Letter Writing Campaign with the theme “Digital India for New India.”

On 23rd September 2023, the letter writing competition was conducted at Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Allied Health Sciences by the Head Post Office, Nagercoil. The competition was held under the supervision of the Course Coordinator, Mrs. Jeyalakshmi, along with Postal Department staff members Mr. Ram Kumar and Mr. Senthil (Marketing Executives & Business Development).

A total of 48 students from various departments of Allied Health Sciences enthusiastically participated in the competition. Stationery, including embossed envelopes, envelopes with affixed stamps, and Inland Letter Cards (ILC), was provided to the participants for the campaign.

The event encouraged creativity and expression, giving students an opportunity to rediscover the charm of traditional letter writing in a digital age.
