“Indian Organ Donation Day” was celebrated at Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital & Nursing Home, OPD Section, on 03.08.2024 to create awareness about organ donation. The program was organized by Dr. Jeyasekharan Hospital & Nursing Home in collaboration with the College of Allied Health Sciences.
The awareness program began at 10:30 am with an introductory speech by Dr. Ranjit Jeyasekharan, Trustee and MD (General Medicine). He spoke about the importance of organ donation, delivering a motivational address that was very informative for the OPD patients and their relatives.
This was followed by a health talk on “Organ Transplantation & Organ Donation” presented by B.Sc. Dialysis Technology II-year students, Mr. Anish and Ms. Asha.
To further spread awareness among college students, a poster-making competition on the theme “Organ Donation… Hope of Life” and a rangoli competition on the theme “Life Can Begin After Death” were conducted on 03.08.2024 for students of Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust, College of Nursing & Allied Health Sciences.
The competitions were held under the guidance of Dr. Ninoo George, MD, DM (Nephrology), Consultant Nephrologist. Certificates and cash prizes were awarded to the winners, while Certificates of Participation were presented to all students who actively took part. Trustees, administrators, doctors, heads of departments, hospital staff, and students of Dr. Jeyasekharan Medical Trust enthusiastically participated in the Indian Organ Donation Day celebration.
