The Drug-Free Tamil Nadu Awareness Campaign is observed annually on 11th August by the Government of Tamil Nadu. In connection with this, an awareness program was organized on 12th August 2024 at the auditorium of Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing. The program aimed to create awareness among students about the ill effects of drug addiction through a series of educational and cultural activities.
Program Highlights
- Welcome Address: Ms. Aswin Vinitha (B.Sc. Nursing IV Year)
- Awareness Speech: Ms. Daffney (B.Sc. Nursing IV Year) on drug abuse and its consequences
- Role Play: Performed by DGNM II Year students, focusing on drug awareness and prevention
- Pledge Taking: A collective Mass Anti-Drug Pledge was administered as per the instructions from the Narco Coordination Centre (NCORD), Enforcement Bureau CID of Tamil Nadu. Students also participated in the e-Pledge campaign.
- Special Address: Delivered by Dr. (Mrs.) Golden Catherine T., SNA Advisor, emphasizing the importance of a drug-free Tamil Nadu
The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Mr. Benastin (B.Sc. Nursing IV Year).
