An Awareness Program on Social Justice and Human Rights was conducted on 6th June 2025 at the Dr. Jeyasekharan College Auditorium as part of the SNA student welfare activities. The session was organized in collaboration with the Department of Social Justice and Human Rights, SP Office, Nagercoil. The program was attended by students and faculty of Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing.

Program Highlights
The program began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Sarayu Priya, Principal, Dr. Jeyasekharan College of Nursing, who emphasized the importance of upholding social justice and human rights in both personal and professional life.
The resource persons highlighted the role of law enforcement in upholding justice, as well as the responsibility of citizens to ensure equality and dignity for all. They also educated students about available helplines and protections:

Interactive Session
The session concluded with an aptitude quiz in which students actively participated. Selected students were recognized and rewarded with gifts, encouraging greater engagement.
A 3rd Year B.Sc. Nursing student shared feedback, expressing gratitude to the police officials for their valuable insights and to the college for arranging such an informative program. The student highlighted how the session enhanced awareness about social responsibilities and legal resources.
Conclusion
The program ended with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. Sarayu Priya, Principal, who expressed appreciation to the resource persons and acknowledged the collaborative efforts that ensured the success of the program. She encouraged participants to carry forward the values of justice, fairness, and dignity into their personal lives and nursing practice.
The awareness program was interactive, educational, and motivating, leaving a lasting impression on all attendees.
