Pongal was celebrated on 13th January 2024 at the college campus, organized by Dr. Jeyasekharan College and School of Nursing. Students arrived dressed in traditional attire — dhotis and saris — reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the festival. Pongal was cooked in the traditional manner using a clay mud pot, adding authenticity to the celebration.
Events and Activities
Various traditional games and activities were conducted, including:
- Cane Eating
- Uri Adi
- Tug of War
- Musical Chairs (for staff children)
- Pot Painting Competition
- Rangoli Competition
- Lucky Corner Game (for teaching and non-teaching staff)
Students participated in the activities with enthusiasm and joy, while staff members also actively joined in, adding to the festive spirit.
The celebration concluded with the distribution of Pongal and sugarcane to all participants, symbolizing unity and togetherness.
